A Few Early Season Did You Knows About This Year's Wildcats

Did You Know......

-that Eric Bledsoe claims he gets his toughness from getting beat up as a young kid. Wow!! He's got some guns for an 18 year old. He must not have had those as a youngster.

-that the aforementioned Bledsoe set the all time single game UK scoring record for a freshman playing in his first career game. That's really hard to word correctly. What I mean is that out of everybody who's played at UK as a freshman(ever), they have all scored fewer points in their opening game than the 24 Bledsoe put up against Morehead State.

-that his first game was the only game that he was eligible to set that record.

-that I predict Wall will break Bledsoe's record tonight.

-that UK's most athletic team this decade did not get even 1 dunk against Morehead State. Not 1. Not only did Morehead State get some dunks, they got some nasty ones. Kenneth Faried's one handed alley-oop was #2 on the Sportscenter top 10.

-that Eric Bledsoe's backwards, falling down, circus shot was #1 on that same list.

-that Eric Bledsoe is getting a lot of love in the DYK.

-that Deandre Liggins doesn't even warm up or sit near the other players on the bench this year.

-that nobody knows why. Coach Cal says he'd rather talk about the players who are playing and that he never throws a kid under the bus.

-that I've never, ever, in all of my days, anywhere, not just in sports, but in any facet of my life, heard of anybody throwing anybody under a bus, literally. We tried to do it to Kendall one time back in 1995 but the bus driver was pretty good and swerved, causing us to miss. After the driver noticed that it was "The Git" that she had dodged, she asked if we wanted to try again. However, she had already ruined the moment and we knew it might cause heartache to Harry and Twanda so we declined.

-that it's rumored that UK will have new uniforms at some point this season from the Lebron James line at Nike. It's rumored these jerseys will first be seen at the UCONN game at Madison Square Garden.

-that the one big time recruit that Cal missed on this spring, Xavier Henry, had 27 in his debut with the Kansas Jayhawks. He hit 5 threes if I'm not mistaken. We needed that shooting.

-that Rider, the team UK plays this coming Saturday, beat #19 Mississippi State the other night.

-that this one has nothing to do with this year's Cats, but Mark Coury and his Cornell squad put a beating on Alabama as well. Coury, of course, was said to have been a force.

-that I have 2 tickets to Thursday night's game I need to sell. If you can point somebody my way to sell these things, you can have Kendall's spot on the blog roster. Not just any spot. Not a dog named Spot. Not a liver spot. But, Kendall's spot.

-that former UK player and fabled "beast", Matt Pilgrim, tallied 2 points and 2 rebounds in his debut for Oklahoma State. Beastly stats indeed. Oh yeah, he also fouled out in 10 minutes of action.

-that former Cat Derrick Jasper tallied 6 points and 4 rebounds in his debut for UNLV in 19 minutes of action.

-that ESPN announcer Jimmy Dykes has dropped his famous "violent cuts" reference since Meeks is gone. Obviously we don't have anybody on the team anymore who cuts violently. He has replaced that with reminding us countless times during the game the other night that John Wall is faster than anyone in college basketball or the NBA "rim to rim". He said this 5000 times in a game that Wall wasn't even playing in. How many will we get when Wall suits up?

-that I actually like Jimmy Dykes. He has some weird ways of getting his point across sometimes, but overall I'm happy when I see that he is doing a UK game.

-that Jimmy Dykes is a former UK assistant coach.

-that I'm done with this post. Thanks for reading it if you actually happened to make it this far.
