Revolting Blog Fantasy Football Update And Analysis

The Revolting Blog Fantasy Football League is underway. Here are a few stats and notes from what's happened so far. All female blog readers can quit reading now.

On the stats, keep in mind that some players had their bye week in week 4. Therefore they may not have factored in to the points leaders.

Overall standings so far:

1. Porcinis After Hours (Jeremy Vinson) 4-0-0
2. Bremen Wookies (Barry T. Vinson) 3-1-0
3. Hefty Lefty (Scott Bunch) 2-1-1
4. Bad News Cats (Greg, aka "papaw") 2-1-1
5. Hops Skull Crushers (Hop) 2-2-0
6. Redskins (Alan Hale) 1-2-1
7. Bremen Bombers (Svein Dyrklbotn) 1-2-1
8. SCLSU Mud Dogs (Shane Hardison) 1-3-0
9. Team Dingleberries (Dustin Harper) 1-3-0
10. Brook'sbunch (Michael Miller) 1-3-0

Ironically, Shane Hardison's Mud Dogs have more overall points than any other team, but sit tied for last in the standings. I mentioned this to seasoned fantasy football veteran Tom Vinson the other day and he replied, "That's fantasy football". I guess it really is that simple. I'm in first mainly because I have caught guys when their team has a bad week. My whippings will be coming soon I'm afraid.

Overall points (along with weekly average)

SCLSU Mud Dogs 390 (97.5)
Porcinis 387 (96.75)
Wookies 367 (91.75)
Hefty Lefty 356 (89.0)
Skull Crushers 336 (84.0)
Dingleberries 333 (83.25)
Redskins 322 (80.5)
Bombers 313 (78.25)
Bad News Cats 298 (74.5)
Brook'sbunch 278 (69.5)

You can see by total points that it is all about matchups.

Now we will show the top 3 point producers at each position.

Quarterback
1. Peyton Manning (hefty lefty) 83 points
2. Aaron Rodgers (Bremen Wookies) 78
3. (tie) Ben Roethlisberger (Bremen Bombers) 70
Phillip Rivers (Porcinis After Hours) 70
I'm pretty sure that Merle hasn't even played Big Ben yet this season, but he has Tom Brady so I understand.

Running Back
1. Adrian Peterson (Porcinis) 70
2. Chris Johnson (Redskins) 69
3. (tie) Ronnie Brown (SCLSU Mud Dogs) 64
Maurice Jones - Drew (hefty lefty) 64

Wide Receiver
1. Steve Smith (Porcinis) 64
2. Reggie Wayne (Bombers) 56
3. Vincent Jackson (SCLSU) 48

Tight End
1. Dallas Clark (Redskins) 47
2. Antonio Gates (Bombers) 45
3. Vernon Davis (hefty lefty) 38

Idiot Kickers
1. Lawrence Tynes (SCLSU) 40
2. Stephen Gostkowski (hefty lefty) 39
3. (3 way tie) John Carney (Bombers) 35
Ryan Longwell (Dingleberries) 35
Nate Kaeding (Redskins) 35

Defense
1. San Francisco (Wookies) 65
2. New Orleans (Bad News Cats) 63
3. Denver (Porcinis) 57

That Denver D has produced the 3rd most fantasy points this season but I've only started them once, and didn't even pick them up until week 2. That shows you what I know.

Top 5 Total Team Points Days So Far
1. Redskins (Alan Hale) 123 in week 2. This is better known as the day Chris Johnson went off.
2. Hefty Lefty (Scott Bunch) 119 in week 3. He beat SCLSU that week.
3. SCLSU Mud Dogs (Shane Hardison) 116 in week 1. He got that many points and his RB's combined to score 7. Unbelievable!!!!!! Started the season off right, but can't catch a break since then.
4. Bremen Wookies (Tom Vinson) 111 in week 2. This is better known as the day Frank Gore went off.
5. SCLSU Mud Dogs (Shane Hardison) 107 in week 2. This points week makes the top 5, but the problem is that the Dogs played Hefty Lefty and his #2 ranked 119 points week. Tough luck indeed.

Hope someone reads this crap. Had some time at work and I like to look at the numbers. Guys from the fantasy basketball league learned that last season. Fantasy football involves a lot of luck. This much I have learned.

Fantasy Football Did You Know
that Hops Skull Crushers would have won every other matchup last week with his 95 points. Problem is he was playing the Wookies. The Wookies scored 104. That's what I mean by this being a game of luck. You've always got it, just don't know whether it's gonna be good or bad.

that SCLSU's opponents score an average of 97 points per week. My (Porcinis) opponents score an average of 69.5 points per week. Now that's some good and bad luck.

that Michael Miller is planning on changing his name to Michael Seis Nueve if he maintains his pitiful 69 points per week average.

that SCLSU has managed to lead the league in overall points even though his QB McNabb has been injured and he has had to go with Trent Edwards. He also has had the misfortune of his RB's underperforming (Forte and Slaton). They both put up some pretty good numbers last week though so look out. Plus he has Ronnie Brown. It just baffles me that he has 1 win. Matchups and luck. I keep saying it.

that the Revolting Blog Fantasy Football League is the only league on Yahoo! Sports to have 2 teams from Bremen. This is not something I researched but it's gotta be true.

That's all for now!!
